Olisa Flags Off Construction of Ultra-Modern Civic Centre in Agwetiti, Ndokwa East ~ Truth Reporters

Agwetiti, Ndokwa East LGA – Friday, 17th July, 2026 – The Commissioner representing Ndokwa Ethnic Nationality on the Governing Board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Dr. Charles Olisa, KSM, JP, today flagged off the construction of an Ultramodern Civic Centre in Agwetiti Community, Ndokwa East Local Government Area.  

The flag-off ceremony drew a large crowd of community leaders, women groups, youths, and stakeholders who trooped out in celebration of the long-awaited project.  

Speaking at the event, Dr. Olisa described the project as a fulfillment of DESOPADEC’s mandate to bring sustainable development and critical infrastructure to oil-producing communities in Delta State.  

In his address, the DESOPADEC Commissioner said:  

“Today marks another milestone in our commitment to the development of Ndokwa Nation. This Ultramodern Civic Centre is not just a building. It is a hub for unity, governance, social activities, and community development. When completed, it will serve all the community members. 

The Oborevwori administration and DESOPADEC are determined to ensure that every oil-producing community feels the impact of government. Agwetiti has waited long for this, and I am proud to stand here today to flag off this project on behalf of the Commission.

I charge the contractor to deliver quality work within the stipulated time, and I urge our youths to protect this project and cooperate with the contractor for timely completion.” 

Dr. Olisa further assured the people of Agwetiti that DESOPADEC remains committed to partnering with communities to attract more developmental projects that will improve the living standards of the people.  

Community Leaders of Agwetiti and other stakeholders expressed gratitude to Dr. Olisa, the DESOPADEC Board, and the Delta State Government for remembering the community. They pledged the community’s support to ensure the smooth execution of the project.  

The flag-off was witnessed by DESOPADEC staff, political leaders, and community stakeholders.
