Ovie of Aviara Honours Onowotu, Wife with Chieftaincy Titles ~ Truth Reporters

The Ovie of Aviara Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Michael Efereaduo Ebobo, Imoh I, has honoured Dr. Ralf Uzezi Onowotu, former President General of Enhwe Kingdom, and his wife, Mrs. Doris Uwouezi Onowotu, with chieftaincy titles.

Dr. Onowotu was conferred with the title of Agbogidi of Aviara Kingdom, while his wife received the title of Esi of Aviara Kingdom.

The colourful ceremony took place on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at the palace of the Aviara Kingdom in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State.

Speaking with journalists shortly after the conferment, Chief Onowotu expressed deep appreciation to the monarch, describing the honour as a moment of joy and fulfilment.

“I am highly elated and feel deeply honoured to be recognised by His Royal Majesty, Michael Efereaduo Ebobo, Imoh I,” he said.

He attributed the honour to his contributions towards the advancement and development of the Aviara Kingdom, noting that the people of the kingdom are peace-loving, accommodating and caring.

Chief Onowotu further urged sons and daughters of Aviara Kingdom, both at home and in the diaspora, to always remember their roots and contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of the kingdom.

The Agbogidi title, according to tradition, is bestowed on individuals who are highly respected and have distinguished themselves in service to the community.

Chief Ralf Uzezi Onowotu also holds the title of Itsekure of Enhwe Kingdom, earlier conferred on him by the Ovie of Enhwe Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Anthony Onomuefe Efekodha, Ejuzi II.

The event attracted several traditional rulers and dignitaries from across Delta State, including the Odiologbo of Irri Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Simon Wajutome, Igbogidi I, and the Ovie of Okpe-Isoko Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Agbabe Felix Omavuewere (JP), as well as cultural leaders and other prominent personalities.
