Prof. Tonukari Honored with Award of Excellence for Outstanding Service to Students ~ Truth Reporters

 

Delta State Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof. Nyerhovwo Tonukari, has been conferred with the National Award of Excellence by the National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS), South-South Zone.

 

The award, presented during a courtesy visit by the NAPS delegation led by Ganagana-Dama Jemima, recognizes Prof. Tonukari as the Best Performing Commissioner for Higher Education and the Most Student-Friendly Commissioner in the South-South.

 

According to the student body, the honor is a reflection of his tireless efforts in advancing higher education in Delta State, as well as his commitment to ensuring that students across the state have access to an enabling environment to excel academically.

 

Since assuming office, Prof. Tonukari has consistently demonstrated an uncommon passion for student welfare, engaging with their concerns and implementing policies geared towards improving the overall academic experience in the state’s tertiary institutions.

 

The delegation praised his exceptional leadership, noting that his open-door policy and student-centered approach have earned him admiration and respect across campuses in the region.

 

The award, they added, is a well-deserved tribute to Prof. Tonukari’s dedication to fostering a conducive learning atmosphere and his unwavering support for students’ aspirations in Delta State.
