Delta commences construction of Aboh-Akarai road, bridge project in Ndokwa East ~ Truth Reporters

 

Construction has commenced on the 10.8-kilometer Aboh-Akarai concrete road with a 100-meter bridge across the Okiri River in Ndokwa East Local Government Area of Delta State.

 

The Member representing Ndokwa East Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Prince Emeka Osamuta, who paid a brief visit to the project site over the weekend, disclosed that soil testing for the bridge has been successfully completed.

 

According to Hon. Osamuta, clearing of the road is already in progress, with bulldozing works stretching from Aboh, the headquarters of Ndokwa East, to Akarai. He further revealed that the dredger required for sand filling has been deployed to the Niger River in Aboh, while other essential equipment for the project has been mobilized to the Akarai axis.

 

He noted that bulldozing and clearing will continue in the coming days toward the Akarai-Etiti end of the road.

 

Describing the project as a “monumental breakthrough,” the visibly elated lawmaker expressed deep appreciation to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for bringing to life a long-awaited dream of the people of Ndokwa East.

 

“I want to thank God Almighty for what He is using our Governor to accomplish in Delta State, especially in Ndokwa East. Just a few weeks ago, Governor Oborevwori and the State Executive Council approved the construction of the 10.8-kilometer Aboh-Akarai concrete road and the 100-meter bridge at Okiri River. Today, I am excited to announce that work has officially commenced. Soil testing is done, and bulldozing and clearing are actively ongoing,” Osamuta said.

 

He confirmed that the dredger for sand supply has arrived at the river site in Aboh, with additional construction equipment already positioned for use. “In the coming days, clearing activities will extend to the Akarai-Etiti section,” he added.

 

Hon. Osamuta, who also serves as Chairman of the House Committee on Warri, Uvwie, and Environs Development Agency, extended gratitude to Governor Oborevwori for fulfilling his promises to the people.

 

“I want to sincerely thank His Excellency, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori. He made a promise and he is delivering on it. I also appreciate his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme—a wonderful and royal personality. This is the first time the Ndokwa ethnic nationality is producing a Deputy Governor, and he has genuinely taken up the cause of our people. May God bless him and his household for his unflinching support in securing the approval for this project.”

 

The lawmaker also praised the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, for his support, and commended his constituents for believing in his commitment to uplift lives and improve infrastructure in the area.

 

Reaffirming his dedication to democratic development, Hon. Osamuta urged the people of Ndokwa East to continue supporting the government at all levels. He emphasized that, upon completion, the Aboh–Akarai road and bridge project would significantly improve lives, boost infrastructure, enhance connectivity, stimulate economic growth, and unlock new opportunities for the region.
