Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, wife of Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori JP, FICMC, the Right Honourable Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly and governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has stated that the MORE agenda of the coming PDP Administration if voted into office will become a vehicle through which thousands of women across the state will be empowered.

She made this disclosure during today's your of markets in Obiaruku Ukwani Local Government Area and Okwabude in Okpe Local Government both in the state.

The Speaker's wife who was accompanied on the tour by wives of other Honourable Members of the State Assembly and various cadre of female party officials, said the purpose of the visit was to meet with market women and assure them of their place in the coming dispensation should her husband and his running mate become victorious on the March 11th gubernatorial election in the state.

"My fellow women, I bring to you good news of the MORE agenda of my husband's administration if elected. I know you people are aware of the various good projects contained in our manifesto and how we intend to advance Delta ahead of other states in this region. I hold the view so strongly that the Delta woman deserve to be empowered to properly play her sensitive and supportive role in the family. Those of us who are into one form of trading or the other deserve to be empowered with soft loans, modern and conducive markets to trade our wares as well as other government support.

"I am assuring you today that the market women in Delta will not be forgotten. New markets will be built. Existing ones will be remodelled to modern standard while facilities to boost our capital base will be made available to us if we vote into office the Atiku/Okowa and the  Sheriff/Onyeme joint tickets", she said.

"So I am therefore urging us all, as mothers, wives and pillars of our families, let us return home and convince our husbands, children, wards, friends and neighbors that my husband and  his runningmate mean we for Delta and Deltans. Tell them we would build on the successes of the Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa led administration to create better life and condition of living for everybody", she concluded.

High point of the ceremony was the presentation of aprons, wrappers,  washing soups, umbrellas, books and other items to the traders.
