Ukah harps on importance of voters registration ~ Truth Reporters








The Secretary to the Delta State Government,S SG, Chief Patrick Ukah, has advised Deltans and other residents of the state to take the ongoing Continuous voters registration exercise seriously.


Chief Ukah gave the advice  during a courtesy visit to his office by the Forum of SSAs and SAs, Delta North Chapter.


The SSG who was represented by the Senior Special Assistant in his office, Mr. Felix Ideh, emphasised that the Current INEC voters registration exercise was very important as it provides  another opportunity for eligible voters to be registered.


He therefore urged members of the Delta North Forum of SSAs and SAs to mobilise the grassroots populace effectively for the exercise.


The SSG stressed that intensive sensitisation and enlightenment of  the citizenry was necessary to enable them  vote for candidates of their choice.


Chief Ukah commended the Forum for its good initiatives aimed at strengthening good governance and thanked them for standing firm with the Governor.


Earlier, the Coordinator -General of the Forum, Comrade Kingsley Azuh said the main objective of the Forum is to complement the efforts of the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa led administration towards advancing its Stronger Delta Agenda .


Comrade Azuh said: " Our goal is to work assiduously to promote unity,love, understanding, peace and progress in Delta North ".


He stated Governor Okowa has raised the bar in good governance in the state stressing that the administration had made remarkable achievements in the past  six years especially in the area of  infrastructural and human capital development.


The Forum is made up of SSAs and SAs to the Governor from Delta North Senatorial District of the state.
