Be good ambassador of Isoko North, Iteire charges Epete ~ Truth Reporters

Isoko-North Council Chairman, Hon Christian Iteire, on Tuesday, received Mr Emmanuel Epete, a former National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member from Isoko North Local Government Area who was among the recent recipients of the President’s NYSC Honours award in Abuja, having distinguished themselves creditably in the service of their fatherland, during the 2019/2020 service year.

Iteire while receiving Mr Epete at his office in the Isoko North Council Secretariat, Ozoro, on September 7, 2021, charge him to show more commitment and be a good ambassador of the Isoko North in his future endeavors, especially as a staff with the Federal Civil Service Commission at Abuja and bring more laurels to himself and Isoko nation

Epete, an indigene of Ozoro Kingdom, bagged Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business Administration at the Ozoro Polytechnic, Ozoro and he did his NYSC Programme at Bayelsa State, where he was involved in many humanitarian activities including donations of books, pencils, and waste baskets, refurbishing of an abandoned water bonehole system, installation of solar powered electric systems, erecting of signposts of and all at the Kpakiri Memorial School, Amassoma, his Primary Place of Assignment during the NYSC Programme.

His diligence and contributions to the education development of Bayelsa State saw him and others across the country bagging the prestigious President NYSC Honours Award at Abuja, where they were given automatic employment and scholarship for their post-graduate programmes by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Isoko North Council boss who was very elated, commended Epete for his outstanding service year at Bayelsa State and returning to his homeland, Isoko, with a coveted Presidential award which according to him, reinforced the "patriotism, selflessness and enormous contributions of the Isoko ethnic nationality to the growth and development of Nigeria".

Commending the Director-General and members of the Governing Board of the National Youth Service Corps for "uplolding fairness, accountability, and transperancy in the selection process of nominees for the presidential award", Iteire reiterated his administration's commitment to empowering the youths of Isoko North through socio-economic empowerment programmes.

While asserting that the youths of Isoko North have the requisite energy, verve and vigour to ensure a greater and brighter future for the Isoko nation, Hon Iteire assured he would continue to support the youths and actively invest in noble interventions and value orientation initiatives that would help the youth have a secured future and get repositioned to play major roles in the future, promising to reward Mr Epete for his diligence and patriotism.

In his brief remark, Mr. Emmanuel Epete expressed gratitude to the Isoko North Council Chairman for granting him an audience, and assured, he would continue to positively project the Isoko nation by being a good ambassador of the ethnic Nationality in his future endeavors.

Present during Mr Epete's visit, were the Secretary to the Local Government Council, Hon David Ejoor Igbuduma, and the Head of Personnel Management, Barrister Henry Obukeowho.
