Access to education, essential for national development - Mrs Iteire ~ Truth Reporters

 







...rounds off donations of school materials to Isoko North pupils

The wife of Isoko North Council Chairman, Deaconess Gloria Iteire on Wednesday, said, easy access to quality education remains an essential condition for national development.


Mrs Iteire stated this on September 29, 2021, in her brief remarks while rounding off her distribution of free branded school materials to pupils of public primary Schools in Emevor, Ozoro and Oyede.


She asserted that, no country can possibly achieve sustainable economic development without substantially investing in human capital development.





While calling on public spirited individuals, Non-Governmental Organizations and Companies to help relieved the burden of access to quality education Local Government Councils bear, Mrs Iteire said her initiative was aimed at sustaining national development through the free provision of school items to enable indigent pupils in Isoko North Local Government Area to have access to quality Primary Education.


According to her, the school intervention programme embarked upon by her would help relieved parents and guardians of the heavy financial burden of acquiring writing materials and other schools items for their wards and children. 


She affirmed that, the project was designed to compliment the untiring efforts of her husband's administration in ensuring an improved Primary Education in Isoko North Local Government Area.


Mrs Iteire appreciated the Isoko North Local Government Council Chairman, Hon Christian Othuke Iteire for his support and commitment to the initiative.





She also appreciated the Vice Chairman of the Council, Chief Frank Esiwo Ozue, the Management Staff, the Supervisors and the Principal officers and members of the Isoko North Legislative Arm led by the leader, Rt Hon Udubra Francis  for their coorperation that saw to the overall success of the programme.


The schools visited by the wife of the Council Chairman on Wednesday were Egbahe Primary School in Isi Emevor, Egburie Primary School, Ekwerigbe Primary School, Amawhe Primary School, and Olordo Primary School, all in Ozoro.


The other schools visited, at Oyede, were, Elo-Oghene Primary School, Bethel, Oyede Primary School, Oyede, and Egbeniame Primary School, Oyede, where the pupils were given new sandals, and branded bags containing inside, waterbottles, mathematical sets, notebooks, pen and pencils, erasers, rulers, stockings.


In their responses, the Headmistresses of the schools visited, thanked the wife of the Isoko North Local Government Council Chairman for her kind gesture, and promised to see to it that the intent towards the development of the pupils are actualised.


The wife of Isoko North Council Chairman was accompanied on the visit by the Leader of the Isoko North Legislative Arm, Hon Udubra, the Chief Whip of the House, Hon Abel Akpokorie, the Member representing Oyede Ward 2 in the Legislative House, Hon Onoriode Ofabor, the Special Adviser to the Chairman, Hon Imogu Joseph, the Head, Community Development, Isoko North Council, Mrs Ezoh Kome, the Wife of the Secretary to the Local Government Council, Mrs Juliet Igbuduma, the Personal Assistant to the Chairman, Mr Joseph Kolawole, the Women Development Officer, Isoko North Council, Mrs P.A. Akpotereno, the Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman, Mr Ajiri-Oghene Oreh, amongst Others.
