OML 30: Cluster 5 mgt c'tee presents starter packs to trainees ~ Truth Reporters

Cluster 5 management commitee in the Oil Mining Lease, OML 30 on Saturday, presented starter packs on capacity building to 60 persons in the cluster.

The beneficiaries of the skills acquisition training drawn from of Oleh, Emede and Olomoro communities were trained in various trades such as make-up art,fashion and design, photography and video, barbing, Hair dressing and styling, Tilling/pop Sign art and painting amongst others.

Presenting the items which included sewing machines, generators, clippers, hand trowels, hair dryers, chairs, pressing irons among other items, Chairman of the cluster, Chief Obaro Ekokobe said
the training ought to have been completed in 2020.

He disclosed that the delay was due to convid19 and litigation challenges which he said had been facing them for the past eight months, expressing hope that the challenges would be a thing of the past.

Lamenting that the cluster have been having a running battle with Heritage Energy Operational Service Limited over their inability to provide employment for the teeming youths of the three communities, he said the Flow Station has been shutdown as a result of non-payment of indigenous contractors and workers by the company.

He said: "Until now, the Freedom To Operate (FTO) documents are yet to be signed. Review of GMOU, provision of 2020 GMOU end of year CSR's, payment of first and second tranche of 2021 GMOU funds, non payment of scholarship and host of others things are pending but were only resolved just few days ago hence they allowed all flow station in OML 30 to open for production Operations."

He thanked the Almighty God and members who had stood solidly behind the cluster and solicited their unflinching support towards the peace and progress of the cluster.
