Appointment of Permanent Secretaries, Based on Strict Adherence to Civil Service Regulations, Affirms Oseji ~ Truth Reporters

In line with extant public service dictates, Head of Delta State Civil Service, Dr Mininim Oseji, has stated that favouritism is not a criteria for consideration in the echelons of the service under her watch .
The number one public servant in Delta State , also debunked aspersions making the rounds , over the distribution of Permanent Secretaries appointment, stating unequivocally, that the appointment is subject to not only discretion per jurisdiction, but also based on availability of spaces .
Dr Oseji, in a press conference to herald the 2026 Civil Service week , at the Ministry of Information Conference hall on Monday June 22, 2026, highlighted her resolve to ensure that the civil service, under her watch, live above board
The Head of Service , flanked by serving Permanent Secretaries of various Ministries, Departments and Agencies ( MDAs(, reiterated her resolve it ensure that the civil service of Delta achieves maximum compliance with best practices, applicable globally
On the allegations of lopsidedness in the appokintmrbt of Permanent Secretaries , the Delta Head of Service stated that the exercise was based on merit, divergence and evaluability, charging critics to fact check the exercise since she assumed her role as Head of Service .
Stressing further ,Dr Oseji said the positioo of the Permanent Secretary is guided by rules and not subject to any extraneous influence .
She advised public servants to remain committed , to the ideals of the service, as she added , that under watch , favouritism would not be entertained .
Said Oseji:" Even the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries were not known . We just checked their seniority levels . It will interest you to know , that even the Permanent Secretary from His Excellency's local government , was not known to any of them . That's how transparent the process of selection of Permanent Secretaries, are ".
