Andaye, Bomadi women, join Delta First Lady at IWD Celebration in Asaba ~ Truth Reporters

Women from Bomadi Local Government Area, led by wife of the Council Chairman , Hon Rejoice Andaye , have joined Delta's First Lady , Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori , and women from the other 24 LGAs , in commemorating the International Women's Day in Asaba.

The event which held on Monday March 9, 2026 , at the Dome Event Centre , with the theme "Give to Gain", was marked with a variety of engaging and intellectual activities, including inspirational and economic empowerment lectures, march past competition involving all 25 LGAs , tug of war , playlette, among other aspects designed to honour and uplift the dignity of women.

In her remarks , the wife of the Governor and founder of the "U Matter" Charity organization, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, commended women for their resilience, strenght , and invaluable contribution towards building stronger families and a better society .

As part of her demonstration of support and appreciation, the Delta first lady provided financial assistance to participants to help boost their businesses and encourage economic empowerment among women across the state.

Speaking on the sidelines of the event, wife of Bomadi Council Chairman and leader of the LGA delegation, Hon Rejoice Andaye , commended the First Lady for always demonstrating her motherly care towards women in the state .

She also assured women of Bomadi , that the administration of Hon Dagidi Rawlings Andaye , will always place the welfare of women in the area as top priority , noting that various empowerment programmes undertaken by the Council Chairman , is ample proof that the best is yet to come for women in Bomadi local government area.
