The Delta State Commissioner for Special Duties, Government House, Dr Ifeanyi Osuoza, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of former Senator representing Delta North Senatorial District, Senator Peter Onyelukachukwu Nwaoboshi, describing his death as a painful loss to the State and Nigeria’s political landscape.

In a condolence message dated December 19, 2025, Dr. Osuoza said he received the news of Senator Nwaoboshi’s death with profound grief, noting that the late lawmaker was a formidable politician, dogged fighter, and accomplished statesman whose contributions to politics and legislative service would remain indelible.

He recalled that Senator Nwaoboshi served with distinction as a two-term Chairman of the Delta State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and later represented Delta North in the Senate, where he was known for his courage, outspokenness, and unwavering commitment to the interests of his people.

According to Dr. Osuoza, the late senator was a man of deep conviction who never shied away from defending what he believed to be right, even in the face of opposition.

The commissioner also highlighted what he described as an act of rare wisdom and foresight by the late senator, noting that before his passing, he made peace with those he had political differences with.

“This singular act stands as an enduring testament to his large heart, political maturity, and spiritual preparedness for the inevitable,” Osuoza said.

While mourning the loss with profound grief, the commissioner said there was consolation in the enduring legacy of service, reconciliation, and courage that Senator Nwaoboshi left behind.

He prayed for God’s forgiveness of the late senator’s transgressions and for the repose of his soul, while extending heartfelt condolences to his family, the All Progressives Congress (APC), his political associates across party lines, and the entire people of Delta North.

Dr. Osuoza further prayed that God would grant all those affected by the loss the fortitude to bear what he described as an irreparable loss.
