As the sixth edition of the 2025 Olona Unity Cup tournament in Onicha-Olona, Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, reaches its climax, Ogbekenu Quarters will square up against Ogbe-Obi Quarters in the grand finale slated for Wednesday, December 31, 2025.

Ogbekenu, runners-up in the 2024 edition, booked their place in the final after edging defending champions, Umuolo Quarters, by a lone goal in the first semi-final played on Monday, December 29, 2025. The defeat avenged Umuolo’s narrow 1–0 victory over Ogbekenu in the 2024 final, decided by a 75th-minute strike.

In the second semi-final played the same day, Ogbe-Obi Quarters defeated Ishiekpe Quarters via a 5–4 penalty shootout after both sides were locked at 1–1 at regulation time.

Meanwhile, the third-place match will be contested between Umuolo Quarters and Ishiekpe Quarters on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at the ultra-modern Donald Ochei Stadium, Onicha-Olona, the venue of the tournament.

The sixth Olona Unity Cup is proudly sponsored by Speaker Emeritus of the Delta State House of Assembly and current President of the Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF), Rt. Hon. (Engr.) Victor Onyekachi Ochei, MNSE, Esq.

The tournament has lived up to expectations as a platform for talent discovery, social integration and community unity.

The six quarters of the Olona community—Idumuje Olona, Agba, Ishiekpe, Ogbekenu, Umuolo and Ogbe-Obi—actively participated from the group stages through to the knockout rounds, culminating in the emergence of finalists and contenders for the third-place position.

The Donald Ochei ultra-modern stadium, built and completed by Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei, is expected to witness a large turnout of sports enthusiasts, youths and community leaders at the final on Wednesday.

The event will also feature attractive prize money for the winners, runners-up and third-placed team, alongside individual awards including Most Valuable Player and Best Team of the Tournament, among others.
