Achuenu Lauds DSPG SUG for Keying into Mgt’s Vision, Inaugurates Projects ~ Truth Reporters

Rector of Delta State Polytechnic , Ogwashi-Uku ( DSPG), Bldr Prof Emmanuel Achuenu , has lauded the Students Union Government ( SUG) of the institution , for keying into management,s three pronged agenda of Infrastructural development, Peace on Campus , and strengthened academic regime.

The Rector also gave the    Comrade Christian Eruru led Students body apart on the back for standing resolute behind management , even in the face of certificate racketeering and other petitions which tended to dampen their enthusiasm as to the fidelity of their certificates

Bldr Professor Achuenu gave the commendations , while inaugurating the 100 seater capacity ultra modern lecture hall built by the Comrade Eruru led Students Union Government , as well as Toyota Corolla "aluta jet" procured by the body .

The Rector noted that the pervading peaceful environment currently being enjoyed on campus in spite of spirited attempts by some elements to cause disaffection in the institution over spurious allegations which have since fallen "like a pack of cards", is due largely to the mutual synergy between management and the students union government of DSPG

Noting that the institution , since he assumed office in 2021, has continued to improve in its quest for technological innovation , research and development as well as training of students in the area of skills development ,  Achuenu affirmed that , "today, we can conveniently say we have keyed into the concept of "one student, two certificates", which is fast becoming the globally accepted standard practices in polytechnic education"

The DSPG Chief Executive Officer announced that "today we have the approval for the certification of almost all the programmes of DSPG, in addition to NBTE accreditation", adding that "we have 100% accreditation for all our programmes, while we are proud to say that the programmes are very strong".

He commended the students union government for it's clear vision of keying into management,s vision as well as prudent utilization of resources in actualizing their projects , describing the leadership as worthy ambassadors of management,s mantra of good application of resources .

Achuenu further added that under his watch as Rector, the institution has undergone massive facelift via internal roads constructed during the Okowa administration,  lighting up of the campus via Solar power courtesy of TETFUND and Delta State government, notifying all that the NDDC solar power project is already ongoing and will heavily boost the lighting up of the entire campus vicinity when completed.

He therefore assured that serious reactivation of the administrative block , the Fine and Applied Arts complex with a corresponding Art gallery , supply of furniture to all lecture halls as well as the completion of the perimeter fencing of the campus , will be ready very soon, among others.

In his welcome address , the Dean of Students Affairs ( DSA), Mr Franklin Agetue, thanked management for their support for the project in spite of upward variation  in building materials prices due to inflationary trends

He also thanked the SUG Executive members for their cooperation in ensuring that the project was duly supervised and saw the light of day

In his speech , an elated Students Union Government ( SUG) President , Comrade Christian Eruru, thanked the Builder Prof Emmanuel Achuenu led management and the Dean of Students Affairs for their kind support towards the realization of the 100 capacity ultra modern lecture hall, describing it as a bold step towards his administrations legacy of keying in to the management,s vision.

Highpoints of the inaugurations which was witnessed by management staff led by the Deputy Rector, Mrs Joy Erere Anho, the National Association of Delta State Students ( NADESSTU), DSPG chapter President , Comrade Clark Peter , Dean's ,staff of the students affairs department and other enthusiastic members of the student community , included inauguration of the aluta jet and unveiling of the commemorative plaque to mark the inauguration of the 100 capacity lecture hall , by the Rector , Bldr Prof Achuenu
