Brazil Investment Drive: Delta to leverage on ranching, industrial growth, assures Aniagwu ~ Truth Reporters

The recent investment drive to Brazil , by Delta State government , is poised towards unlocking fresh prospects for industrial expansion, agricultural development, renewable energy , and jobs creation in the state

Equally , the Brazil engagement was aimed at showcasing Delta,s investment opportunities, as well as drawing lessons from that country,s agricultural model, especially in ranching .

Briefing journalists at the Conference hall of the state ministry of information , Monday 15th September 2025, the commissioner for Works ( Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu stressed that the establishment of ranches in the state would not only boost food production and create jobs, but also strengthen security , by curbing the use of forests as criminal hideouts .

While disclosing that the Oborevwori administration has already recorded significant gains by opening up all 25 local government areas with vital infrastructure , Aniagwu said such interventions had created access to mineral resources, industrial corridors , as well as potential free trade zones.

The Works and Public Information Commissioner said : "We are pursuing both security and job creation by targeting ranching and other agro-industrial investments. Our discussions in Brazil are progressing very well, and we are optimistic about the outcomes".

He also disclosed that that the state government delegation to Brazil also held talks with renewable energy firms and other players in the power sector , building on other engagements with the Rural Electrification Agency ( REA) , in Abuja the Federal Capital Territory ( FCT)

According to the Commissioner , the overall objective is to light up the state , expand industries, and create employment opportunities that will improve living standards of Deltans, given the rising number of graduates from tertiary institutions across the state .

On the ongoing screening exercise for civil servants in the state , the Commissioner emphasized that the exercise is fully backed by government , and is with a view to fish out those who by virtue of their primary school certificates and current age they pleaded , were above the retirement age , in addition to those whose study leave had exceeded the normal limit but were still drawing salaries in connivance with some civil servants while they had not been found near their places of work years after they had supposedly finished their  studies
