Funkekeme advocates for active participation of Christians in politics ~ Truth Reporters

 







Christians in Nigeria have been called upon to play active politics and use their numeric strenght to vote for candidates of their choice in the 2023 general elections.


The Senior Political Adviser to the Governor Hon Funkekeme Solomon made the call while declaring open a one day media training programme for media directors in the Christian Political Media Forum held in government house Asaba.




Hon Solomon represented by the Cordinator of the group Evangelist Emeke Eguanimku said the mission of the training was to expose participants to the new trend in the media world and how best to publish facts and not fiction.


He said the Media and Christians are indispensable in any society and advocated the need for them to be truthful,objective and God fearing in their duties.





In a lecture on the theme of the one day seminar,"Importance of the Media and Christians in political evolution",a guest speaker Mr Ejime Udueme said unity was needed among Christians for them to be able to use their 80 million members in Nigeria to determine who governs them in all elective positions in the country in 2023.


Mr Udueme, a practicing journalist reminded media practitioners of the need to stick to the ethics of the profession emphasizing that whatever they did could make or mar the forthcoming general elections.


The guest speakers reminded Christians and other Nigerians of the need to arm themselves with their Permanent Voters Card to enable vote for candidates of their choice in the 2023 general election.
