Don't sell your farming inputs, Iteire warns Isoko North farmers ~ Truth Reporters

...as NEMA distributes agricultural relief items

Isoko-North Council Chairman, Decaon Christian Othuke Iteire has warned farmers in the Local Government Area not to sell the farming inputs given to them by the Federal Government of Nigeria, FGN through the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, but to put them into good use the purpose they are meant for.

Giving the warning to the beneficiaries of the Emergency Agricultural Interventions Fund (EAIs) drawn from all wards of the Local Government Area on Thursday, October 8, 2021 at Ozoro during the flagging off ceremony, held at the Isoko North Council's Secretariat in Ozoro, Hon Iteire, said, that, the interventionist programme by the Federal Government would provide succor for the affected victims of Covid-19 pandemic, the flood disaster in the year 2020.

The materials been distributed by NEMA under Emergency Agricultural Intervention Fund with the active support of the Delta State Emergency Relief Agency, SEMA are Water Pumps, Fertilisers, Rice seedlings, seedlings, Knapsak Sprayers Growth Enhancers, Pesticides and Herbicides.

According to the Isoko North Council boss, both the Federal government and the Delta State Government have invested hugely in the running of the agricultural programme, aimed at helping and sustaining the farmers who are seriously affected by Covid-19, flooding amongst others.

Hon Iteire expressed hope that the programme would greatly see to the boosting of agricultural productivity, provision of employment and stimulation of rural economy in Isoko North Local Government Area.

In his brief remark, the Delta State Director, Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Mr. John Onovroke appreciated the Council Chairman for his support to the programme in the Local Government Council, which according to him, the programme, designed to increase food production and a redemptive measure that would address the adverse effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and the 2020 flooding.

Present during the flagging off ceremony were the Leader of Isoko North Legislative Arm Hon Udubra Francis , the majority Leader, Hon. Olori Fred , the Secretary to the Isoko North Local Government Council, Hon David Ejoor Igbuduma, the Supervisor for Agriculture and Community Development, Mr Mark Ekakitie, the Supervisor For Education, Prince Ogbo Enakeno Christopher , Hon Odafe Innocent  and Hon Onoriode Ofabor, the Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman, Mr Ajiri-Oghene Oreh among others.
