Isoko South Bye-Election: Ukodhiko pays thank you visit to Oleh ~ Truth Reporters







The Delta State Commissioner for Energy, Engr. Ukodhiko Jonathan, has charged leaders and party faithful of Oleh ward I and II to remain committed to the growth and development of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.


Ukodhiko, gave the charge during a thank you visit to Oleh wards for voting the People's Democratic Party, PDP and his candidate Hon. Evivie Ovuakpoye, in the just concluded September 11th, 2021, Isoko South Constituency I By-election, at Oleh Civil Centre, yesterday. 


According to the Commissioner, he was in Oleh in fulfilment of his promise made during his meetings with leaders and party faithful before the election. 


"Having fulfilled your part of my plea, by voting PDP and its candidate, which climaxes with the PDP winning the election convincingly, am here today, to fulfill my promise to the Oleh, by saying a BIG THANK YOU to my people, for voting Hon. Ovuakpoye Evivie in the just concluded Bye-election".


"I am not in Oleh for political campaigns, neither did I come to Oleh to tell political tales, but I came to fulfill the promise I made to the two wards, the day preceding the election day".


He noted that, before the Bye-election, you will recall I came to Oleh, my maternal place, accompanied by Barr. Dr. Paul Oweh and Prince Godwin Ogorugba, to plead with the people of Oleh, to put their political grievances outside, and come out to vote the candidate of the PDP, Hon. Ovuakpoye Evivie, He said.


Engr. Ukodhiko, and members of his entourage were received by PDP leaders and Party faithfuls from the two Oleh wards, led by Hon. Chief J Iroro and Chief Joe Arausi, amid cheers, and chants of Engr. Ukodhiko's name by the women. 


He also said, His Excellency, Senator. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, the Governor of Delta State, has responded to the yearnings of the Isoko People for improved power supply, by approving the upgrade of the Isoko line to help ameliorate the light situation in ISOKO, for businesses thrive in the area. 


The occasion which witnessed an enormous turnout of Party faithfuls from Oleh ward I and II respectively, also had in attendance representative of the local Government chairman, Hon. Blessing Uzoge, vice chairman, Isoko South LGA and members of Oleh community Excos, led by the President General of Oleh Community, Chief Billy Alagri. 


"If my plea is considered and the PDP come out victorious in the Bye-election, I will come back to say a special thank you to my Oleh people".


He therefore thanked the leaders and party faithfuls for giving him a listing ears and also tasked them to always stay committed to the growth and development of the party and prayed for God's blessings and protection upon them. 


Responding on behalf of the Oleh people, Hon. Chief J. Iroro and Hon. B. Obiewu who spoke in the same vein, thanked the Honorable commissioner for matching his words with action, by returning to Oleh, in less than two weeks of making such promises, and describes the Honorable commissioner, as a worthy son of oleh, that deserves commendation. 


The highpoint of the visitation was the presentation of food items to the Honorable Commissioner by Oleh Community women, led by the Chair Lady of Oleh Community, Mrs  Juliana Itewhor, who said as mothers, they know a good son, deserve good food.
