COVID-19: Group urges Nigerians to maintain high level personal hygiene ~ Truth Reporters

The Nigeria Face of Hope Ambassadors (NFHA), an arm of Hauz of Elnathan, has received with sadness the news of the continued upsurge in the number of Covid-19 positive people in Nigeria.

The group in a statement jointly signed by Ambassadors Tochi Isaac and Rejoice Onyemaechi urged Nigerians to obey government instructions and shun the abuse of chloroquin drugs.

"We take into account the moves by the various state governments to curtail the spread of this deadly virus and hereby state unequivocally that we are most impressed with government responses so far.

"We appreciate the kind gestures of our brother and father, Mr. Tony Elumelu and other billionaires who have donated heavily to fight this epidemic. We are also calling on other Nigerians who has the means to follow suit.

"We call on Nigerians to observe the highest level of self-hygiene by ensuring that they wash their hands regularly with soap and running water, apply sanitizers, ensure that their surrounding is clean at all times and avoid touching their nose, eyes and mouth.

" We are also advising Nigerians to observe social distance and avoid non-essential gatherings. Anyone with signs of fever, sore throat or difficulty in breathing should please approach the nearest hospital for urgent attention.

"Also, we are enjoining people to report suspected cases to designated numbers provided by the Federal government through the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) or other channels provided by various state governments. We call on Nigerians to stop unprescibed intake of Chloroquin tablet as it could be harmful to their health.

"Finally, people living in states where a total lockdown has been declared should endeavor to follow government directives. While we appreciate the biting inconveniences these measures would cost, we must bear in mind that these are sacrifices we must make to defeat this monsterous scourge. This too shall pass," the statement added
