Ukodhiko, Odior, Ogorugba Flag Off N130m Empowerment for 2,600 Beneficiaries in Isoko North
Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, including the member representing Isoko North and South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rep. Jonathan Ukodhiko, and the Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area, Hon. Prince Godwin Ogorugba, have flagged off a N130 million cash empowerment programme for 2,600 beneficiaries across the 13 federal wards in the local government area.
The programme provides N50,000 each to 200 beneficiaries in each of the 13 federal wards, with the aim of promoting grassroots development, supporting small-scale economic activities and improving the livelihoods of residents.
The flag-off exercise, which also featured the member representing Isoko State Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Bernard Odior, commenced at Opute Hall, Ozoro, covering Ozoro Federal Ward and DESIEC Wards I, II, III and IV.
The team subsequently visited Owhelogbo Federal and State Wards, Otor-Igho Ward 7, and Otor-Owhe/Akiewhe Wards 6 and 9, before concluding the day's activities at Iyede Federal and State Wards.
Speaking during the exercise, Ukodhiko described the initiative as a grassroots-oriented intervention designed to bring the benefits of governance closer to the people and provide direct financial support to beneficiaries at the community level.
The federal lawmaker commended President Bola Tinubu for his administration's policies and reforms, particularly in infrastructure development and economic management.
He also praised Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, for making funds available for the empowerment programme, alongside other development projects, grants and interventions aimed at improving the welfare of residents.
Ukodhiko stressed the importance of people-oriented programmes in addressing the needs of the people, supporting livelihoods and easing economic challenges, particularly at the grassroots.
He urged residents of Isoko North and South to sustain their support for the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections, calling on them to vote for the party's candidates at all levels.
According to him, continued support for the APC would advance the Federal Government's Renewed Hope Agenda and the Delta State Government's MORE Agenda, while promoting development and effective representation.
