The Delta State Commissioner for Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu, has directed the immediate upward review of the monthly stipend paid to artistes serving in the Delta Broadcasting Service, Asaba.

Mr Aniagwu who gave the directive today while holding a meeting with the management and staff of the station, said that after careful review of the stipends paid to the artistes, it became pertinent to increase it so as to encourage them to work harder and ensure that they got what may be conversant with realities of today.

The Commissioner used the forum to charge the staff of the establishment to put in their best so as to compete favourably with other media outfit as well as justify the Salary being paid to them by the Government.

On the work environment, Mr Aniagwu stated that work was already going on to give the environment the desired outlook, noting that the place was being restructured both in and out to ensure that the environment was conducive for all.

The commissioner responding to the complaint of inadequate personnel, directed that staff audit be carried out to determine area of need, adding that it would enable the ministry advice the government properly.

He however warned that the state government would no longer tolerate indiscipline among the staff that use to abandon their duty posts for private engagements.
