Okowa hails Amori at 67 ~ Truth Reporters





Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta has congratulated a political titan and statesman, Chief Ighoyota Amori, on his 67th birth anniversary on Aug. 8.

Okowa, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Olisa Ifeajika, on Thursday in Asaba, extolled Chief Amori for his outstanding contributions to the growth and unity of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and development of Delta. 

While congratulating Amori, the Chairman, Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency, he lauded him for his role as party stalwart, describing him as a partyman of estimable value.

Okowa also commended Amori for his untiring efforts at bridge-building, saying he was a political tactician and a leader with great passion for the development of his Urhobo people.

He recalled Amori's contributions as Commissioner for Education, Water Resources, Senior Political Adviser and later as Senator Representing the good people of Delta Central Senatorial District before his tenure was aborted by the Appeal Court.

He said: “As a party leader and stalwart, you have remained a respectable voice, bridge-builder and we appreciate you for your consistency and loyalty to our great party.

"Your focus and commitment to the growth and development of our party and Delta State is commendable and worthy of emulation.

"On behalf of the government and people of Delta State, I heartily rejoice with a great leader and elder statesman, a reputable and reliable political ally, Chief Ighoyota Amori JP, as he celebrates his 67th birth anniversary on Thursday, August 8, 2019.

”I am pleased to join your family, political associates and other well-wishers in thanking God for blessing you with the strength and wisdom to live a fulfilling life of service and commitment to the well-being of our people.
