Onojaeme Gifts Hundreds of Isoko North Constituents Motorcycles, Tricycles, Equipment, Cash ~ Truth Reporters

The Delta State Commissioner for Health, Dr Joseph Onojaeme, has empowered hundreds of residents of Isoko North Local Government Area with motorcycles, tricycles, business equipment and cash support as part of efforts to improve their livelihoods and strengthen small-scale businesses.

The empowerment programme, held on Friday, November 6, 2026, attracted a large crowd of beneficiaries, political leaders, party faithful and other stakeholders from across the local government area.

The items were distributed following a needs assessment conducted across Isoko North to identify residents who required specific equipment to support their businesses and economic activities.

Speaking at the event, Onojaeme said the initiative was driven by his desire to make a practical difference in the lives of his constituents, adding that he preferred investing in people's livelihoods to organising elaborate birthday celebrations.

“I don't throw parties. What I love to do for my people every year on my birthday is to empower them because my joy is to make them happy. I am grateful that I can achieve this through my boss, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori,” he said.

The commissioner disclosed that the empowerment package included 10 women bikes for women, 23 motorcycles for men, 10 tricycles, 10 solar-powered refrigerators and 10 3.5kVA generators with solar panels, alongside other items and cash support.

He explained that the distribution was guided by the needs assessment to ensure that beneficiaries received equipment relevant to their economic activities rather than adopting a one-size-fits-all approach.

Onojaeme also expressed appreciation to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for giving him the opportunity to serve, describing the governor as a supportive and God-fearing leader whose leadership had provided the platform for him to reach out to the people.

“I want to respectfully thank my boss, the workaholic Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, who gave me the platform to serve the people. Without my boss's God-fearing heart, it wouldn't have been possible to connect with the people,” he said.

He urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the equipment, stressing that the purpose of the programme was to improve their economic circumstances and enable them to become more self-reliant.

The commissioner also called on the people to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections, urging them to vote for President Bola Tinubu, Governor Oborevwori and other candidates of the party from the presidential election to the State House of Assembly.

Several party leaders and political stakeholders who attended the event commended Onojaeme for what they described as his sustained grassroots engagement and commitment to the welfare of the people.

Among them were the Delta State APC Chairman, Chief Solomon Arenyeka; Delta South APC Vice Chairman, Chief Emmanuel Amgbaduba; member representing Isoko North and South Federal Constituency, Hon. Jonathan Ajirioghene Ukodhiko; and APC candidate for Isoko North Constituency I, Engr. Orobosa Uzuazomaro Ashakah Maro Orobosa.

The speakers praised the commissioner for his efforts in mobilising support for the APC across Isoko and other parts of Delta State. They also called for sustained support for the Oborevwori administration and its M.O.R.E Agenda, expressing confidence that the governor's development projects across the state would help secure continued public support.

They pledged to work towards the success of the APC at all levels in the 2027 elections, from the Presidency to the State Assembly, insisting that the achievements of the present administration should be sustained beyond 2027.

The event ended on a celebratory note as beneficiaries received their various items amid excitement and appreciation. Gospel musicians, including Emmanuel Ofano and Evangelist Ighaka, entertained the gathering with Christian songs.
