Kolokolo, Tisun Residents Salute Oborevwori Over 3.1km Road ~ Truth Reporters
Residents of Kolokolo and Tisun communities in Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State have commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for the construction of a 3.1-kilometre road linking the two riverine communities.
The residents, who described the road as a dream come true, said the project would ease transportation difficulties, boost economic activities and improve access to essential services in the area.
The Commissioner for Riverine Infrastructure Development, Hon. Ebikeme Clark, gave the road a pass mark during an inspection tour, where he was received by jubilant residents of the two communities.
Clark commended the contractor, Ocean Explorers Nigeria Limited, for delivering quality work in line with the required standards.
He also expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for providing the financial support that had enabled the Oborevwori administration to execute major infrastructure projects across the state's 25 local government areas.
Community leaders and residents, including Victoria Omajugho, Gabriel Utieyintsola, Frederick Kuke, Tuemi Mene and Comrade Ofeoritse Tonukarin, described the project as a long-awaited intervention that would transform life in the communities.
They recalled that travelling between Kolokolo and Tisun had been difficult because of the challenging terrain, despite the presence of major oil and gas operations in the area.
The residents commended Oborevwori for extending his administration's MORE Agenda to riverine communities, expressing optimism that the road would strengthen connectivity, stimulate local commerce and improve the movement of people and goods.
The General Manager of Ocean Explorers Nigeria Limited, Muobor Krubu, said the contract was awarded in September 2025.
He explained that the road featured rigid pavement, drainage channels on both sides, access slabs and concrete culverts at designated locations to facilitate effective drainage and ensure durability.
Krubu thanked the state government for entrusting the company with the project, assuring that the completed road reflected its commitment to delivering quality infrastructure.
The inspection tour also featured town hall meetings with community elders, leaders and youths, who appealed to the state government to sustain its development drive in riverine areas.
Some stakeholders at the meetings also pledged their support for President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori ahead of the 2027 general elections.
With the road completed, residents of Kolokolo and Tisun are looking forward to Oborevwori's visit for its formal commissioning, expressing hope that the project would open up the communities to greater economic opportunities and improve their livelihoods.
