FASOS Elects New Leaders, Ornguga Emerges Chairman, Egbabor Deputy ~ Truth Reporters

 

The Forum of APC State Organising Secretaries (FASOS) has elected a new leadership to pilot the affairs of the forum, with Hon. James Ornguga of Benue State emerging as Chairman.

Ornguga and other members of the new executive emerged through a consensus arrangement at a meeting of the forum held in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

Chairman of the Electoral Committee and Kano State Organising Secretary, Dr. Kabiru Usaini, announced the results, declaring Ornguga Chairman, while Hon. Emmanuel Egbabor of Delta State emerged Deputy Chairman and Hon. Barr. Emeka Okorafor of Abia State was elected Secretary-General.

Other members of the executive are Hon. Mrs. Adefemi Taiwo of Ondo State, Treasurer; Hon. Ahmed Sani Mashi of Katsina State, Publicity Secretary; Hon. Tukur Shani of Borno State, Financial Secretary; and Hon. Ahmed Baba of the Federal Capital Territory, Organising Secretary.

The forum also elected coordinators for the six geopolitical zones to strengthen coordination and enhance effective administration across the country.

They are Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Kawu Yakasai of Kaduna State, North-West; Hon. Muhammad Bello Sallau Kafi of Bauchi State, North-East; Barr. Hassan Inusa Abubakar of Nasarawa State, North-Central; Barr. Stanley Igboke of Ebonyi State, South-East; Hon. Sanwo-Olu Adebayo of Lagos State, South-West; and Chief Sylvanus Obari Sanwi of Rivers State, South-South.

In his acceptance speech, Ornguga thanked members for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to provide inclusive and consultative leadership.

He said decisions affecting the forum would be taken in consultation with members, stressing the importance of unity, cooperation and effective coordination among State Organising Secretaries.

Ornguga commended the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, the National Organising Secretary, Alhaji Sulaiman Argungu, and State Chairmen of the party for recognising the strategic role of State Organising Secretaries in the APC structure.

He pledged that the forum would engage relevant party authorities on issues affecting its members and seek amicable and sustainable resolutions to identified challenges.

The new FASOS Chairman also pledged the forum's support for the APC and its candidates, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in forthcoming elections.
