2027: G6 Mobilises Owhelogbo for Tinubu, Oborevwori, APC Candidates ~ Truth Reporters

Owhelogbo, Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, was agog at the weekend as the G6 Campaign Group mobilised the community for the 2027 elections, urging residents to vote for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and other All Progressives Congress, APC, candidates.

The group also rallied support for Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, representing Delta South Senatorial District; Hon. Jonathan Ukodhiko, representing Isoko North/Isoko South Federal Constituency; and Hon. Frank Ozue, APC candidate for the Delta State House of Assembly.

The mobilisation brought together party leaders, stakeholders and supporters, with speakers stressing the need for unity, political vigilance and collective support for the APC ahead of the elections.

One of the conveners, Vice Chancellor of Dennis Osadebay University, Asaba, Prof. Samuel Aghalino, commended the people of Owhelogbo for their support for the party and urged them to sustain the momentum.

Another convener, Chief Mike Ogwah, Executive Assistant to the Governor on Petroleum Monitoring, urged eligible voters yet to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs, to do so ahead of the elections.

Ogwah said possession of the PVC was critical to enabling the people to exercise their constitutional right to vote and determine who governs them in 2027.

Also speaking, another convener, Dr Patrick Akporuno, Executive Assistant to the Governor on Project Monitoring, urged the people of Owhelogbo to put aside their differences and reclaim their political influence by speaking with one voice.

Akporuno, a renowned mathematician, said divisions within the community had, over the years, weakened its political strength in Isoko North.

He said the community had benefited from the present administration, citing the appointment of Aghalino as Vice Chancellor of Dennis Osadebay University as one of the benefits.

“We cannot say we have not gotten the dividends of democracy. We have several appointees. Above all, we have Prof. Aghalino, who was recently appointed Vice Chancellor by our Governor. So, we must show gratitude and vote,” he said.

Other members of the G6 include Chief Mathias Otobo, Dr Mrs Mimie Igbrud and Dr Anthony Oghomi.

The event attracted a large turnout of party supporters and community members, who expressed solidarity with the candidates amid music, dancing and other displays of support.
