Olisa Bags UNIDEL LAWSA Award ~ Truth Reporters

In recognition of his contributions "to students leadership , advocacy, and engagement within the University community", the Faculty of Law , University of Delta ( UNIDEL), Law Students Association ( LAWSA), has bestowed "The Most Politically Accomplished Student Leader Award", on the Commissioner representing Ndokwa East Ethnic Nationality on the Governing Board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission ( DESOPADEC), Dr Charles Olisa


The award to Dr Olisa ,  a 300 level law Student of UNIDEL, was presented during the faculty's annual dinner on Friday June 5th, 2026 at the Law faculty , Owa Oyibu Campus , in lka North East local government area of Delta State .


According to the citation , the award "recognizes contributions to student leadership, advocacy, and engagement within the University community".


The annual Law dinner , beyond being a social gathering , serves a vital function in legal education worldwide , reinforcing the values of advocacy , ethics, networking, and professional identity that underpin the practice of law.


Attended by students of UNIDEL Law Faculty,, the event brought together guests and legal luminaries who converged to celebrate academic achievement , leadership , and the legal profession's role in society


In his acceptance speech, Dr Charles Olisa , commended the the UNIDEL Faculty of Law under the leadership of the Dean, Prof Cecil Okubor, for the sustained progress and academic standards, achieved under his tenure.


Olisa also expressed profound appreciation to the LAWSA UNIDEL Chapter and it's Executive Committee , led by Mr Nwosu Ebube, the President of the LAWSA UNIDEzl Chapter.


Said the elated UNIDL LAWSA awardee : " I am deeply honoured by this recognition. The Law Dinner embodies the spirit of the legal profession: collegiality, service , and commitment to justice. With the second semester examinations commencing 22nd June  2026 and ending 17th July 2026, this award will spur me to higher standards of excellence as l progress to 400 level law".
