Delta Security Summit: Andaye Lauds Oborevwori's Foresight, Assures of More Proactive Measures in Bomadi ~ Truth Reporters

The Executive Chairman of Bomadi Local Government Council, Hon Dagidi Rawlings Andaye , has commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his foresight in convoking the Delta State Security Summit , describing the initiative as "timely and far reaching".

Hon Andaye , the Secretary of the Delta State Chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria  ( ALGON), also assured that more proactive measures from his administration will be practiced in Bomadi local government area, going forward.

The Bomadi Council Boss , while speaking with newsmen on the sidelines of the epochal security summit which held on Wednesday June 17 , 2026, at the Unity Hall of Government House , Asaba, said the relative peace pervading the state in sharp contrast with the insecurity situation ravaging most parts of the country , are as a result of pragmatic interventions put in place by Governor Oborevwori.

He listed some of the interventions to include strategic collaboration with the security agencies in the state through provision of operational vehicles and other logistics support, as well as the inclusion of all traditional rulers, community Presidents-Gensrak, and local security groups , in the fight against insecurity.

Hon Andaye stated that the importance attached to the issue of  insecurity in which Governor Oborevwori had taken the bull by the horns, is amply reflected by the diverse assemblage of stakeholders across the state , in attendance at the summit

Noting that the challenge of insecurity can only be tackled by the concerted efforts of all and sundry from government to the governed, the Bomadi Chairman said he is optimistic that the security summit convened by Governor Oborevwori, will address grey areas and strengthen collaboration among all stakeholders in the security architecture .

According to Andaye: "Let me first of all commend my proactive Governor and leader , Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, for convening this all important security summit. His decision to host this epoch making event, speaks highly of his proactiveness in addressing critical issues frontally . I am optimistic that going forward , Delta will witness the effects of this synergy of gathering key stakeholders along , to brainstorm on the way forward in nipping the issue of insecurity in the state , in the bud. As a local government , Bomadi under my watch will strenghten it's proactive approach . We have already put measures in place , in collaboration with our security agencies . But we will improve on it, going forward. This security summit is well thought out and will achieve it's desired objectives, thanks to our proactive Governor".
