Okowa Ends Senatorial Consultations, Reaffirms Commitment to Effective Representation ~ Truth Reporters

Former Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, on Tuesday concluded his consultations across the nine local government areas of Delta North with visits to Ika South and Ika North East, where he reaffirmed his commitment to effective representation and inclusive leadership ahead of the 2027 elections. 


Addressing party leaders , stakeholders, women, youths, and supporters during the engagements, Okowa reflected  on his years in office as Governor of Delta State, highlighting his administration’s investments in human capital development, youths and women empowerments, and the deliberate inclusion of all  segments of society in governance.


He stated that leadership must remain people-centered and purposeful,  noting that governance should not be measured merely by political office but by the impact made in the lives of ordinary citizens.


According to him, his tenure as governor was guided by the principle of building people first, creating opportunities for young people, supporting women in leadership, and ensuring that no community was left behind.


The former governor assured the people of Delta North that his experience in both executive and legislature has further strengthened his resolve to continue offering quality representation, pledging to lead the senatorial district with wisdom, consultation  and a deep sense of responsibility.


He emphasized  the need for unity among political leaders and grassroots stakeholders ,  stressing that stronger collaboration across the district would enhance development and sustain the collective progress of Anioma nation.


“As leaders, our responsibility is to continue  working together for the good of our people. I remain committed to ensuring that Delta North continues to enjoy purposeful leadership and stronger representation,” he said.


Leaders who spoke during the consultations appreciated Okowa for maintaining close engagement with the grassroots  and for sustaining direct contact with party structures across the district. They described his visits as  demonstration of responsible leadership and political maturity.


The stakeholders also assured him of the support of the people, expressing confidence in his leadership capacity and his continued relevance in the political development of Delta North.


The visit to Ika South and Ika North East marked the final leg of Okowa’s consultation tour across the district, reinforcing his message of unity, inclusion, and sustained commitment to the advancement of the senatorial district.
