DCTDA Seals Properties of Environmental Defaulters in Asaba ~ Truth Reporters

Today, the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency (DCTDA) intensified its enforcement of environmental sanitation laws with the sealing of several properties in Asaba following a court order.

The enforcement exercise, led by the Head of Environment, Mr. Isaac Nwosu, was carried out after the Agency obtained a sealing order from the competent court against individuals and businesses that failed to honour summons issued during the last sitting of the Agency’s mobile court.

Affected locations include a residential building on Isioma Welder Road, an aluminium/furniture workshop, a scrap dump site identified as “Scrap Dump 74,” a gas retail outlet, and an ongoing construction site at Princes Ajudua Crescent.

According to Mr. Nwosu, the action became necessary due to the continued disregard for environmental regulations and failure of the defaulters to appear before the court as required.

He reiterated that the Agency remains committed to ensuring strict compliance with environmental laws in order to maintain cleanliness and public health within the capital territory.

Speaking on the development, the Director General of DCTDA, Mr. Patrick Ukah, emphasized that the Agency will not relent in its efforts to enforce environmental standards across the state capital.

He stressed that the Agency means business in its drive to keep the state clean, warning that offenders, once apprehended, will face the full weight of the law.

The Agency therefore urged residents and business owners to adhere strictly to environmental guidelines and respond promptly to official summons to avoid sanctions.
