Ojei Commends Oborevwori for Fixing Ogboli, Deffri Roads Ahead of Father’s Burial ~ Truth Reporters

The Special Adviser to the Governor of Delta State on Special Duties, Mr. Chuks Ojei, has commended the state governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for fulfilling his promise to rehabilitate Ogboli Road and Deffri Road in Ogboli Quarters, Issele-Uku, Aniocha North Local Government Area.

Ojei described the governor’s action as a demonstration of compassionate leadership and commitment to the welfare of the people, noting that the road project followed a personal appeal he made during a moment of grief after the passing of his father, Dr. Nuel Ojei.

Speaking in a statement of appreciation, the governor’s aide recalled that the governor visited the Ojei family in Issele-Uku on January 5 to commiserate with them over the loss of their patriarch.

According to him, during the condolence visit, he had expressed gratitude to the governor for personally finding time in his busy schedule to console the family.

He said he also used the opportunity to appeal for the rehabilitation of Ogboli Road and Deffri Road, which had posed long-standing challenges for residents and would be critical as preparations began for his father’s burial.

Ojei said Governor Oborevwori assured the family during the visit that the government would intervene and fix the roads, giving them hope at a difficult time.

He disclosed that on March 4, the governor directed contractors to mobilise to site, with construction work already underway on the roads.

According to him, the contractors are working diligently to ensure the projects are completed ahead of the burial ceremony.

The governor’s aide noted that the development has brought joy to residents of Ogboli Quarters and surrounding communities, describing it as a long-awaited intervention that will significantly improve transportation and boost socio-economic activities in the area.

“For the people of Ogboli, this project represents more than road construction; it is a symbol of responsive governance and the fulfilment of a promise made in a moment of sorrow,” he said.

Ojei praised Governor Oborevwori, popularly referred to by many as the

“Promise Keeper,” for demonstrating leadership defined by action rather than words.

“Your Excellency, you have shown that leadership is not just about words but about action.

"You made a promise during a difficult moment for my family, and today you have fulfilled that promise. For this, my family and the entire Ogboli community remain eternally grateful,” he stated.

He also prayed for divine strength and wisdom for the governor as he continues to implement his administration’s MORE Agenda aimed at delivering meaningful development across Delta State.

Residents of Ogboli and neighbouring communities have also expressed appreciation for the intervention, saying the road construction will ease mobility, enhance economic activities and improve the living conditions of people in the area.

They noted that the swift response of the governor reflects a leadership style that listens to the needs of the people and responds promptly to address them.
