Ukodhiko Urges Massive Voter, APC E-Registration Ahead of 2027, Rallies Support for Tinubu, Oborevwori ~ Truth Reporters

Member representing Isoko North and Isoko South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Jonathan Ajirioghene Ukodhiko, has renewed his call on residents of the constituency to actively participate in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise being conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), describing the turnout so far as low and worrisome.

The federal lawmaker also urged members and supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across the constituency to fully embrace the party’s ongoing e-registration exercise, stressing that a strong and updated party register is essential to strengthening the APC’s grassroots structure and consolidating its electoral fortunes in Delta State and beyond.

Ukodhiko made the call on Sunday during a meeting of APC leaders and stakeholders from Isoko North in Ozoro, where he expressed concern that despite INEC’s sustained efforts to register eligible Nigerians, particularly youths who have attained the age of 18 since the last general election, the number of new registrants in the constituency remains negligible.

He emphasized that while voting is a fundamental civic right, registering to vote is an equally important civic responsibility that must not be taken lightly.

According to him, although citizens have no control over the circumstances of their birth, they bear both a divine and civic obligation to contribute meaningfully to national development, noting that active participation in the democratic process begins with voter registration.

Beyond the INEC exercise, Ukodhiko placed strong emphasis on the APC e-registration, calling on party members, supporters and new entrants to formally register or update their membership details, adding that the exercise would further strengthen the party at the grassroots and strategically position it for future electoral contests.

The lawmaker stressed that mass voter registration and APC e-registration are critical steps toward ensuring overwhelming support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff F. O. Oborevwori, and all APC candidates in future elections.

“Our strength as a party and as a people lies in our numbers. Registering to vote and registering with the APC are essential steps towards sustaining good governance, continuity and progressive leadership at both the state and federal levels,” he said.

Ukodhiko disclosed that concerted efforts were already underway to boost awareness and participation, including the mobilization of town criers to reach grassroots communities, engagement with civil society organisations and the deployment of social media platforms to mobilise urban populations.

He added that his office had also appealed to INEC to extend registration activities to rural areas to ensure inclusive and widespread participation.

The Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Science and Technology further clarified that the ongoing INEC exercise also covers eligible voters who have changed their places of residence or lost their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

He therefore urged all eligible constituents to promptly visit the nearest INEC offices to register or update their details, while also encouraging APC members to complete their e-registration without delay, warning that the registration windows may not be extended.

Reaffirming his commitment to deepening democracy and strengthening the APC in the constituency, Ukodhiko called on residents to seize the opportunity to be active stakeholders in the democratic process and to rally behind the APC for sustained development, stability and progress at all levels of government.
