Christmas Message: Otuaro Calls for Peace, Unity, National Renewal ~ Truth Reporters

 

The immediate past Deputy Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Dcn. Kingsley Burutu Otuaro, has called on Nigerians to embrace peace, unity and compassion as critical tools for national development.

In his Christmas and New Year message, Otuaro said the timeless message of Christmas remains relevant to Nigeria’s current challenges, stressing that peace and goodwill are indispensable for social harmony and progress.

Quoting Luke 2:14 — “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men” — the former deputy governor noted that the scripture captures the true essence of the season and serves as a reminder of the values needed to heal the nation.

He urged citizens to demonstrate tolerance, love and understanding in their daily interactions, adding that unity remains the bedrock of national cohesion and sustainable development.

Reflecting on the past year, Otuaro acknowledged the economic hardship, insecurity and uncertainty faced by many Nigerians, but commended their resilience, faith and perseverance, describing these qualities as the country’s greatest strength.

Addressing the people of Delta State, he praised their patience and determination, noting that the state is richly endowed with human capital, natural resources and cultural diversity. 

He emphasized the need for unity of purpose, responsible leadership and collective commitment to building a state that works for all, irrespective of political, ethnic or religious differences.

Otuaro also called on leaders at all levels to prioritize the welfare of the people by governing with integrity and pursuing policies that promote fairness, security and economic opportunity.

He encouraged Nigerian youths not to lose hope, describing them as the driving force of the nation’s future. According to him, their energy, creativity and determination must be positively channeled towards leadership founded on character and vision.

Expressing optimism for the year ahead, the former deputy governor prayed for peace, comfort for troubled hearts and joy in every home, while expressing hope that the new year would usher in renewed national strength, economic recovery, improved security and greater unity.

He wished Nigerians a peaceful Christmas celebration and a prosperous, purposeful New Year.
