Andaye approves Free SSCE enrollment for SS3 students in Bomadi public schools. - Truth Reporters

Coming barely 48 hours after Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, through the State Bursary and Scholarship Board, announced automatic scholarships for first class students at all the state owned Universities, relief has come the way of parents and students of public secondary schools in Bomadi Local Government Area.

     In a historic and bold display of empathy , Executive Chairman of Bomadi Local Government Council, Hon Dagidi Rawlings Andaye, has approved free enrollment for all Senior Secondary School  ( SSS) students writing Senior School Certificate Examination ( SSCE), as well as it's National Examination Council ( NECO) equivalent across that local government.

     The Bomadi Council Chairman , made the announcement , while receiving in audience, members of the All Nigeria Conference of Principals of Secondary Schools ( ANCOPSS), Bomadi Chapter, in his office at the Council Secretariat.

     Andaye disclosed that the decision to fully sponsor the SSCE registration, WAEC or NECO, for all eligible SS3 students in Bomadi , is borne out of a personal initiative driven by his belief in the efficacy of education to uplift the future leaders of tomorrow and invariably, society, to higher levels of development .

      Giving insight to the motivation behind the gesture , the Delta chapter ALGON Secretary , said the policy is informed by his personal life experience , noting that he understands the challenges faced by parents and guardians in fulfilling their financial obligations to their children and wards during these difficult times .

     According to him, the intervention will bring great relief to parents and guardians in Bomadi, particularly those in rural communities battling with the current economic realities.

     Said Andaye :"I experienced it firsthand . It was purely by the grace of God that saw me through my education . You as school Principals , carry a great responsibility because the future of these students under your care , lies in your hands".

     He also admonished that education is not limited to the acquisition of degrees and certificates alone, but behind from the early stages of life where the character, values, and discipline of children are moulded to positively impact society .

     "Education is about shaping lives from the cradle. What a child becomes tomorrow is a direct reflection of what they learnt today and how well that learning is guided", emphasized Andaye.

     He concluded by pronouncing that , going forward, all students promoted to SS3 in Bomadi public schools will benefit from free enrollment for one SSCE, either WAEC or NECO.

     Responding , the ANCOPPS delegation spokesperson commended Hon Dagidi Rawlings Andaye for his people oriented leadership , describing his initiative as timely, impactful, and novel in the history of Council administration in Bomadi local government area.
