Ugbomah to Chair Landmark Book Launch on Data Privacy Law ~ Truth Reporters
Former Delta State Commissioner for Environment, Dr. George Ugbomah, has been announced as Chairman of a landmark book launch set to make a significant contribution to Nigeria’s expanding conversation on digital rights, data governance, and regulatory reform.
Dr. Ugbomah, a former pioneer Chairman of the Governing Council of Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku, currently lectures in the Department of Political Science at Dennis Osadebay University, Anwai–Asaba.
The event is slated for Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at the Multi-Purpose Hall of Admiralty University of Nigeria, located along the Asaba–Ogwashi-Uku Road.
Hosted by the Vice Chancellor of Admiralty University, Prof. Christopher Bankole Ndubuisi, who serves as Chief Host, the launch will also feature distinguished legal scholar Dr. Anthony Idigbe, SAN, as Chief Launcher, adding further intellectual and professional prestige to the ceremony.
The book, “Breaking Frontiers in Data Privacy and Protection Law in Nigeria,” is expected to provide cutting-edge insights into data privacy, cybersecurity, digital regulation, and the protection of citizens’ rights in an increasingly interconnected digital environment.
Experts say the publication is timely, coming as Nigeria scales up efforts to strengthen its legal and institutional frameworks for data protection and align with global best practices.
Organisers describe the launch as a historic knowledge-sharing event and urge scholars, legal practitioners, policymakers, students, and the wider public to attend and engage in shaping the future of digital rights legislation in the country.
The event begins at 11:00 a.m. on the scheduled date.
