Ogbuku's alleged arrest: Fake news, handiwork of fifth columnists, affirms Kpokpogri ~ Truth Reporters
Chairman of the Anti Corruption and Integrity Forum, Comrade Prince Kpokpogri, has described the alleged arrest of Managing Director of the Nigeria Delta Development Commission ( NDDC), Mr Samuel Ogbuku, on account of a failed coup plot to topple President Bola Tinubu,s government, as false and the handiwork of "fifth columnists".
Kpokpogri, also the Publisher of Integrity Watchdog Magazine, said , in a press release , that , as a concerned citizen, he is deeply worried over the spate of falsehood being peddled by some person's without due fact checks before escalating such informations.
He wondered why people would interpret "being interrogated" to being arrested , describing such attitudes as clearly sinister and outrightly speculative .
Comrade Kpokpogri stated that there was nothing wrong in inviting perceived allies of former Bayelsa State Governor , Timipre Sylva, who has been alleged fingered to have a hand in the coup plot against Tinubu , for questioning.
He however noted that while not holding brief for Ogbuku, his main concern is the peddling of falsehood and capitalizing on a sad event such as the alleged coup plot to begin to denigrate and malign one of the most patriotic administrators Niger Deltans have had as NDDC Managing Director.
Said Kpokpogri:"Without mincing words , Samuel Ogbuku is the best tgst has happened to Niger Delta in recent times. When you profile the history of the Nigeria Delta Development Commission since inception, Samuel Ogbuku is the only MD that has carried the people of the region along . His performance and top-notch and achievements widely spread".
The Anti Corruption and Integrity Forum Chairman , cautioned against people using the circumstances of an allegation against Ogbuku,s former boss, Timipre Sylva, to want to stain him ( Ogbuku), affirming that , so far , he has proven the integrity and transparency that were needed to run an interventionist agency such as NDDC
Furthermore, Kpokpogri clarified , on the alleged #45billion traced to Timipre Sylva,s account, "if Timipre Sylva was allegedly paid as reported in the Punch Newspapers, l think the Management Board of the NDDC , acted in good faith without allegedly knowing his ( Sylva,s) agenda. He is a contractor to NDDC just like every other contractor executing projects for the Commission , and so what he uses his money for, is strictly his own question to answer. He handles the Shoreline Protection project for the NDDC from my understanding and he was allegedly paid from the NDDC account . The Commission is not administered by one person, but by a team that was constituted into a Management Board with a Chairman as head".
