Oborevwori Setting the Pace for Delta Council Chairmen — Bomadi Council Boss, Andaye ~ Truth Reporters

Bomadi Local Government Chairman, Hon. Dagidi Rawlings Andaye, has hailed Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his transformational leadership, describing him as the pace-setter whose development-driven governance has inspired local council chairmen across Delta State.

 

Speaking at the Quarterly Strategic Meeting of Secretaries to State Governments of all APC-governed states held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at the Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba, Hon. Andaye, who also serves as Secretary of the Delta State chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), said Governor Oborevwori’s leadership style has turned every local government area into an “infrastructural development worksite.”

 

According to him, the Governor’s outstanding record of performance has made Delta Council Chairmen the best rated in Nigeria in terms of grassroots development and people-oriented governance.

 

“The incredible performance of Delta Council Chairmen is a reflection of the kind of Governor we have — a tireless, visionary and workaholic leader whose transformational drive reaches every nook and cranny of the state, even to the creeks,” Andaye said. 

“The moment we assumed office, we had no option but to follow his example. Governor Oborevwori has taken bold steps to deliver on his M.O.R.E. Agenda, which aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr President. Our duty as council chairmen is to take a cue from him and replicate that drive at the grassroots. That’s exactly what we are doing with renewed vigour and passion.”

 

Hon. Andaye also commended the Governor for his respect for local government autonomy, saying Oborevwori has maintained a hands-off approach to council finances, thereby fostering transparency and efficiency at the grassroots level.

 

“You are all aware of the Supreme Court judgment, so I need not say much. In Delta, we are not encumbered. Governor Oborevwori does not interfere in our finances. 

"He ensures that whatever has been pronounced is followed to the letter. That is why every local government council in Delta is working. It’s a new era for local governance in the state,” he added.

 

Andaye further noted that under Oborevwori’s watch, Delta State has become a model for developmental governance, setting the standard for others to emulate across the country.
