Oborevwori to visit Germany on strategic talks with construction giants, Julius Berger Plc ~ Truth Reporters

Barring any unforeseen, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori will set out for Germany on Tuesday 21st October 2025, ahead of strategic talks with construction giants, Julius Berger PLC.

The strictly working visit , which will have the Commissioner for Works ( Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu, and the Governor,s Technical Assistant ( TA), Engr Nakpodia , as part of the Governor,s entourage , is aimed at deepening technical collaboration and securing  more favourable project terms for the state.

Briefing the media on Monday 20th October, 2025 at the Conference hall of the state ministry of information, Commissioner for Works ( Rural Roads) and Public Information  Mr Charles Aniagwu , Pflanked by the Chief Press Secretary ( CPS) and the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Public Enlightenment, Projects and Policies, Mr Olisa Ifejika, said , "the purpose of this visit is to strengthen our ongoing partnership with Julius Berger. His Excellency is known for his negotiation skills, and this trip will help us secure better deals and concessions that will benefit the state".

Aniagwu emphasized that the visit was not for leisure, but part of the Oborevwori,s administration,s continuous efforts to enhance project delivery and cost efficiency .

Recalling the state,s previous engagement with China , Aniagwu noted that it led to the award of major contracts , including the #59 billion Agbor flyover and the #39 billion Otovwodo junction flyover on the Warri-Patani highway

He also announced that the forthcoming 2026 budget , estimated at #1.5 trillion, would prioritize capital capital projects , social welfare , and infrastructure expansion

Said Aniagwu: "Following the approval of the Medium Term Expenditure Framework, ministries are fine-tuning their submissions before presentation to the State Executive Council".

Aniagwu also disclosed that , Governor Oborevwori has directed that all upcoming empowerment programmes , scheduled to begin in October , must be transparent and inclusive across all 25 local government areas of the state .
