The much-anticipated Children’s Golf Holiday Clinic at the Ibori Golf and Country Club (IGCC), Asaba, commenced today, September 1st, 2025, with dozens of enthusiastic young participants between the ages of 7 and 15 taking part in the three-day program.
The clinic, which will run daily until September 3rd, is designed to introduce children to the basics of golf while building values of patience, discipline, and focus.
The program enjoys the strong backing of the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency (DSCTDA), reflecting the agency’s commitment to youth development through sports.
Speaking at the event, officials of IGCC noted that the holiday clinic reflects their dedication to creating avenues for children to learn, grow, and discover new talents. “Beyond recreation, sports instill discipline and confidence, which are essential values for the next generation,” the organizers explained. They added that the initiative also aligns with DSCTDA’s vision of promoting a healthier and more vibrant capital territory.
The DSCTDA has continued to drive initiatives that improve the quality of life in Asaba, and the ongoing golf clinic further demonstrates the agency’s role in fostering community well-being and youth empowerment.
The clinic will continue on September 2nd and 3rd with sessions starting at 8 a.m. daily.
