DSCTDA Moves to End Flooding Woes With Stormwater Project in Asaba ~ Truth Reporters

The Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency (DSCTDA) has reaffirmed its determination to end perennial flooding in Asaba, assuring residents that ongoing stormwater and road projects will provide lasting relief.

 

A major intervention currently underway is the construction of a flood control system at Ogbeilo/Ugbomanta Streets, with discharge drains channeled through the Ogbeogonogo Market to Otuogwu Bay in Oshimili South Local Government Area. According to the Agency, the project is designed to ensure free flow of stormwater, eliminate blockages, and protect vulnerable neighborhoods from seasonal flooding.

 

Director General of the Agency, Hon. Patrick Ukah, appealed to residents for patience as construction progresses, noting that temporary inconveniences are inevitable but necessary for sustainable results.

 

“These are not stop-gap measures,” Ukah emphasized. “They are carefully designed permanent solutions that will make flooding in the capital territory a thing of the past.”

 

Reiterating DSCTDA’s vision, Ukah pledged that the Agency will continue to build a safer, cleaner, and flood-free capital territory for the benefit of all residents and businesses.
