Below is the full excerpt of the rebuttal

*DEBUNKING* *THE* *FALSE* *AND* *MISLEADING* *PUBLICATION* *BY* *FRESH* *ANGLE* *ONLINE* *NEWSPAPER* *ON* *WARRI*  *URHOBO* *APC*

The attention of the Warri Urhobo APC Family in Warri South Local Government Area has been drawn to a sponsored, false and deliberately mischievous publication by an online medium named freshangle newspaper titled "Warri South: Urhobo Leaders in APC split, produce two chairmen". The report by the online newspaper is sponsored and completely untrue. There is no division in Warri Urhobo APC and all our Leaders and Members are fully and unequivocally loyal to our dear Governor, His Excellency Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori. We have continually restated our loyalty to our dear hardworking and indefatigable Governor at all meetings presided over by our Leader - Olorogun Bernard Okumagba. We met on Saturday May 3rd at Okeke Events Centre in Warri and stated our unequivocal support for our hardworking and indefatigable Governor. Our General Meeting of May 3rd was widely reported in all newspapers, online mediums and all APC WhatsApp platforms. In our UNITY MEETING (attended by both old and new APC members) held on  Thursday 24th of July at Peggy Hotel Warri,  we all  restated our unequivocal loyalty to our dear Governor. At that meeting a full Leadership Council was put in place and Olorogun Bernard Okumagba was elected as Chairman/Leader and Chief Isreal Abido was elected as Deputy Chairman/Deputy Leader. Others adopted as members of the Leadership Council by the well attended meeting are Hon Chief Benson Obire, Rev David Otofia, Chief Vincent Okudolor Chief Mark Ikpuri, Chief Victor Okumagba, Hon Matthew Opuoru, Chief West Ham Adehor and Hon Chief Peter Agiri.

Nobody in Warri Urhobo APC (both old and new members) under the Leadership of Olorogun Bernard Okumagba is supporting anyone else aside from our hardworking and indefatigable Governor. We resolved to put in place a Leadership Council (comprising both old APC and old PDP members) which will be fully committed to Warri Urhobo interests and not a tool for and subordinate to a neighbouring ethnic group. We were concerned about having a Leadership that cannot be manipulated, easily coaxed into taking negative decisions influenced by our neighbours. The meeting of Thursday July 24th of Warri Urhobo APC under the leadership of Olorogun Bernard Okumagba adopted the following resolutions.

1. We restated our  unanimous endorsement of  President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborovwori as our sole candidates for the 2027 general election.

2. The meeting urged all members to work together in unity and stand firm to protect Warri Urhobos interest at all times.

3. The leaders pledged to work towards ensuring that Warri Urhobos get our fair share of positions whenever the party congresses are going to be held.

4. The leaders also pledged to ensure that Warri Urhobos get at all times our fair share of what is due to us at the Warri South LGA level, the Delta South Senatorial District level, the Delta State level and the Nigerian Federation.

We therefore urge the general public to disregard the false and misleading publication claiming a split in the leadership of the Warri Urhobos in APC. The publication lacks substance and is sponsored by  enemies working against the collective interest of the Urhobos of Warri.

Signed:

1. Rt Hon Gabriel Okandeji

2. Hon Obruche Obodo JP

3. Mr Benji Eboh

On behalf of  members / Leaders of Warri Urhobo APC.
