Odior, Edevor, others officially join APC in Ozoro Ward 2 ~ Truth Reporters

In a major political shift and re-aligment in Delta state politics, the Majority Whip of DTHA, and Member Representing Isoko North Constituency, Hon. Bernard Odior, Esq. alongside hundreds of supporters and other political leaders within the ward have officially joined the APC Ozoro 2, ward 10 in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta state. The official ceremony which took place today at the ward party Chieftain's home in Etevie community, Ozoro, Isoko North LGA.
The development follows similar defection across Delta state and reflects growing alignment with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori's administration.
The APC leadership welcomed the new members with assurance of equal treatment and opportunities, emphasizing that the party's is big enough to accomodate all progress-minded individuals regradless of their political antecedents.
Speaking during the event, he said their move was meant to perfect what was initiated on 28th of April, 2025 at the cenotaph in Asaba, in which the entire PDP leadership in the state officially joined the APC in a colourful ceremony.
The Majority Whip described the move as strategic step toward greater development in Delta state, calling on party's faithfuls, all appointees and good people of Ozoro 2, ward 10 to remain united under APC and the leadership of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta state.
He stressed that the decision was rooted in the need to align with a party that can deliver tangible benefits to the people.
"The decision to move to the APC is unanimous by the entire stakeholders in the state. Our entire family (Delta PDP) had decided to move as a block to the APC", Hon. Odior said.
He expressed optimism that political alignment with the ruling APC, both at the state and Federal levels would bring about improved development. When you have a Governor and Mr. President from the same political party, their chemistry flows, and it produces more development for your state".
He urged APC members to dismiss rumors of "overtaking", emphasizing unity within the pary to attract more development to the ward.
Another prominent leader who spoke after Odior was Hon. (Chief) Chief Emmanuel Edevor, former Isoko North Chairman, and currently EA to Governor on Political matters. He echoed majority whip sentiments, stressing the need for collective effort and unity. He described the collapse of the PDP structure as a symbolic end to disunity and division withing the political progress and development of Ozoro 2, ward 10.
In furtherance of today's event, Dcn. Osiobe, Isoko north APC leader, Hon. William Omoviro (Kingibe), leader of Ozoro APC, Barr. Daniel Emebuno, Isoko north LGA APC Chairman, Engr. Benson Akwenuke and Comrade Gospel adhegba, APC Ozoro 2, ward 10 chairman, formally received the PDP defections, assuring them of fairness and equal rights within the party. They stressed that APC operates without segregation, offering the same privileges to both old and new members.
Meanwhile, a renowned Delta APC Chieftain and Delta State PANDEF Chairman, stressed the need for the party (APC) to give the right of first refusal second ticket to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Sen. Joel-Onowakpo, Engr. Pastor Jonathan Ukodhiko, Hon. Bernard Odior, Esq. in their respective positions. Such will not only help to promote understanding, inclusivity, and collaboration, but also help to achieve the set goals and objectives of MORE and Renewed Hope Agenda respectively.
The event concluded with a symbolic handover of the party's broom insignia to new members by the party's ward chairman, comrade Gospel Adhekegba, and a collective pledge to work for the advancement of the party's goals in the community. Therefore, in the course of the event new membership card of the All Progressive Congress was duly issued to the new entrants in line with the party directive to formally welcome new members to the party to promote the Renewed Hope For MORE Agenda.
