The Chairman of Ika South Local Government, Engr. Jerry Ehiwarior, has congratulated the  Muslim community in the Local Government Area, on the  commencement of the Ramadan fast.

The Chairman said he was happy to identify with the Muslim faithful in the area on the very important moment in the Islamic calendar.

In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, CPS, Jonathan Onwuka, Engr. According to him, "It is a time for our Muslim brothers and sisters to strengthen their faith, practice kindness, and uphold the time -tested values of love, peace and unity that Islam teaches."

Ehiwarior added, "It should equally remind them of the need to join hands with other Nigerians of other faiths to pray for a peaceful and united country where every citizen can thrive in  peace, security and prosperity.

"As you begin your fasting and engage in prayers, I urge you all to continue to demonstrate the spirit of compassion, generosity and brotherhood, as these are virtues that define the holy month of Ramadan."

The Chairman explained that, "as a government, we appreciate the invaluable contributions of the Muslim community in Ika South towards the peaceful co-existence, growth and progress of our dear Local Government Area."
