As Ogidi-Gbegbaje mounts the State Bureau for Pensions saddle ~ Truth Reporters

By Andy Emephia

Incontrovertibly, across board, in all land and climes, especially in bureaucracies, there is a nagging issue and what is it? It's the after retirement, the denouement, the reality of life after service to one's fatherland.

It's the gratuity and pension debacle, the dream of every retiring public servant to reap where they sowed, after meritorious service to fatherland

The State witnessed , on Tuesday 30th April , 2024, tumultuous excitement , as a thoroughbred administrator, well grounded in the be all and know all of the technicalities of his "trade", Sir Edwin Egwonomu Ogidi Gbegbaje , mounted the saddle of a very tortuous portfolio that would make or mar him

What epaulettes has he not garlanded? What diadems? It befuddles one

Eddy , as he is fondly addressed , is consummate. A team player , very meticulous and unassuming , he is a yeoman per excellence .

From a rich pedigree of Public servants parents, from a legacy that is once incontrovertible and legion , Sir Edwin Ogidi Gbegbaje , the immediate past Permanent Secretary , Directorate of Government House and Protocol , Government House Asaba, has seen it all. It could be incontrovertibly said, that he has seen, come , and conquered

Sir Edwin Ogidi Gbegbaje is a maverick , workaholic to a fault , altruistic , germane , but daring if you dare him

An embodiment of humility , elan, grit and sheer humanity , he has seemingly bestrode his space

AS BUREAU FOR STATE PENSION CHAIRMAN

No one knows the.thinking of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori , Delta State Chief Executive , in appointing Eddy to a position that it appears , even the devil will thread with caution

It's the prayer of any retiree in public service , to be accorded his or her full entitlements as far as gratuity and pension is concerned

But , unbelievably , what appears to be a fair due has become a mirage

Perhaps , Governor Oborevwori, having seen the need to etch his name in the history books, and having verified credibility , genuineness , and fidelity , in the pension process , occasioned with the mortality of beneficiaries, has seen a man that can "bleed" for his ( Oborevwori,s) passion, to put to an end, the mutations of widespread angst about governments apathy towards the plight of retirees

Apparently , with the groundswell of solidarity , stoicism, as well as  spontaneity , that greeted his appointment , Sir Edwin Ogidi Gbegbaje, the "father", the "Boss", is on course to end the pension glut. He is primed
