Ejiro Emiko hails from Ethiope East Local Government Area. She has a B.Sc. in Agricultural Economics. She was unemployed for years before her enrolment into the Delta State Government’s Skills Training and Entrepreneurship Programme (STEP) in the  2019/2020 cycle in which she was trained in Fashion Design and Tailoring. She is now the CEO of Esiri Signature located in Afisere. Two years later, she shares her success story.

"After I graduated from the university, all I wanted was a job with good pay. But I did not get any. Then someone told me about STEP but I was not interested. Eventually I enrolled but told myself that I was going to sell off my Starter Pack. But after several training sessions, I made up my mind to settle with the business. And since then, it has been so good.

"I now have more than 30 sewing machines. I have six employees on my monthly payroll and 30 trainees (both part-time and full-time). By the grace of God, I am doing abundantly well.

"I make packet shirts and sell them online. I also sell fabric and tailoring materials. I make ready-to-wear clothes too. With the business, I have been able to acquire a plot of land which I want to develop as a permanent site for my company soon.

"I want to say a very big thank you to our amiable governor for eradicating poverty from my life. God bless him."
