The Executive Assistant ( EA), on Political matters to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Chief George Okafor, has described the recent declaration of PDP Governorship candidate in the Saturday, March 18 elections, Rt Hon Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, by the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission (lNEC), as God ordained

Speaking with newsmen in Asaba, Chief OKAFOR, a PDP stalwart from Aniocha South, said despite all the hurdles met by the Governor-elect on his journey to victory, God saw him (Oborevwori) through the legal tussles and the party primaries to emerge at last as the winner of the Delta governorship elections

This, he said, could only have come to pass because God had a hand in who gets power at every given time and for this point in time, had used Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, the leader of the party in the State, to pick him (Oborevwori), as God,s choice to keep the altar at the Government House, Asaba, chapel, burning

While also congratulating Deputy Governor-elect, Sir Monday Onyeme, the Executive Assistant to the Governor also felicitated with Delta North Senator-elect, Hon Prince Ned Nwoko, and Aniocha South House of Assembly member-elect, Chief Isaac Anwuzia, respectively, on their emergence, expressing the hope that they will bring the much-needed development to Delta North in general, and Aniocha South in particular, through people-friendly bills that will translate to dividends of democracy for the people

Chief OKAFOR described the Governor-elect, Sheriff Oborevwori, as an accomplished pan Delta and unifier as evidenced by his managing the affairs of the state house of Assembly which has made him become the longest-serving Speaker in the history of the Delta State House of Assembly, said he was more than confident that the Governor-elect will act on his MORE agenda in the interest of all Deltans

He, therefore urged the Governor-elect to be magnanimous in victory by reaching out to his co-contestants to tap from what they had as a manifesto for the betterment of Delta State

"On behalf of my teeming supporters and associates, l heartily felicitate with our party,s governorship candidate now Delta State Governor-elect, Rt Hon Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, on his landslide victory and declaration as Governor-elect, by Delta State Independent National Electoral Commission (lNEC). We are all aware of the hurdles thrown at him in the build-up to the elections, from various litigations that ended at the supreme court, to the party primaries where he won convincingly. This gives me proof that Sheriff is destined to Govern Delta at this point in our political history. It is my fervent conviction that he will do well to unify, develop and continue from where our leader his Excellency, Senator Dr . Ifeanyi Arthur "Ekwueme" Okowa, through his Stronger Delta vision, will stop on May 29, 2023. I urge our Governor-elect to be magnanimous in victory and reach out to his co-contestants who are Deltans with one or two things to bring to the table", Chief OKAFOR said
