HOR: Ukodhiko A Daunting Prospect ~ Truth Reporters

The focus and attention have quickly moved away from the passing of the Late Queen Elizabeth 11 and the elaborate funeral ceremony to the campaigns and preparations for the 2023 elections as we draw closer to the official date for the start of the general election campaigns and with the release of names of successful candidates of the various political parties by INEC, the electoral umpire. 

With the publication of names of the various candidates of different political parties by the electoral arbitrator INEC, over 6 candidates from different political parties were published by INEC for HOR, Isoko Federal Constituency. 

For the electorates of Isoko Federal Constituency, this election is particularly unique and of great interest because for the past 16 years, this is the only time new entrants will be independently contesting for the exalted seat without an incumbent running for it. 

One of the candidates for the position of the HOR, Isoko Federal Constituency who enjoys a great deal of support and goodwill from the Isoko ethnic nationality is Pastor Engr. Ukodhiko Jonathan Ajirioghene. This is due to his friendliness, visionary servant-leadership skills, as well as his humble demeanour, mixed with his life etiquette. He's a prominent businessman and a foremost industrialist, philanthropist, and pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God. 

Ukodhiko is a man who embodies the best qualities of both the aged and the young. He has a diverse record of accomplishments in the Nigerian economy's shadowy private sector, where riches can only be attained through perseverance, diligence, commitment, consistency, and prudent management of people and resources. 

Pastor Ukodhiko is coming at a time when constituents are yearning for a more effective political representation at all levels of government, and at the time the calls for young people to assume leadership positions have reached their climax. 

Ukodhiko is coming to correct two crucial demands of the people; to provide them with effective representation and to respond to the call for younger people to assume leadership positions. 

The candidacy of Pastor Ukodhiko under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is a daunting prospect, one that has set its sail on the right path of navigation for the growth and development of Isoko. 

A critical look at his political wish list outside his statutory functions as a prospective legislator serves as a wake-up call to the Isoko electorates as they choose who to support and vote for, in the 2023 February general election for National Assembly. 

The Ukodhiko political wish list which he dubbed 'Compendium of my Political Action Plan' is a direct and forceful political message that he has sent to his people of Isoko Federal Constituency, one that embodies inclusive representation, unity, the introduction of quality bills, increased youth participation in governance, empowerment, the cessation of gas flaring in Isoko, and the establishment of Isoko Investment Coy. 

In order to genuinely shift the narratives of the old pattern of representation where only a small group of the people profits from our collective patrimony at the expense of others and the greater Isoko people, Ukodhiko has pledged to raise the standard of representation and make it inclusive, with the release of his political action plan which will serve as a political compass and as a tool for his appraisal. 

It is evident in Ukodhiko's speeches and body language, his genuine and sincere desire to give quality and effective representation to his people if elected. The above desires are some of the reasons we can boldly say that the candidacy of Ukodhiko is a Daunting Prospect, one that will bring home dividends of democracy. 

For us to enjoy this new prospect of representation, it will require the corporation and the collaborative effort of all and sundry to make it come to reality in the coming general elections, by massively mobilizing and voting for Pastor Engr. Ukodhiko in the general election.
