ABRAHAM JENNIFER enrolled and trained in the Delta State Government’s Skills Training and Entrepreneurship Programme (STEP) in the 2018/2019 cycle. Being a hair stylist, she was re-trained in Hairdressing, Makeover and Braiding as a Brown STEPreneur.

Jennifer is an OND holder, hails from Ika North East Local Government Area and is the CEO of Treakind’s Concept in Asaba. She is two years in business and has done well in business after she received her starter pack. To boost her capital, she has diversified into the sale of footwear, beauty products, jewellery and lingerie. She shares her experience.

“Before I got enrolled in the job creation programme, I had trained myself in Hairdressing and Makeover. My trainer is one of the job creation trainers and a beneficiary. I could not establish myself because I did not have money. Now I contribute immensely to the upkeep of my home.

“STEP motivated me to come this far in business through the starter pack and the mind-set change trainings, for instance, the Orientation and Personal Effectiveness Training (OPET) and the Entrepreneurship and Business Management Training (EBMT.)

“I appreciate the State Government for the opportunity. The follow-up and implementation processes of STEP are excellent.”
