Abraka indigenes angry over Evance Ivwurie's attacks on Okowa ~ Truth Reporters

Kinsmen to former lawmaker representing Ethiope East State Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Evance Ivwurie, have condemned the verbal attack hurled on Governor Ifeanyi Okowa by the ex-lawmaker.

It would be recalled that Ivwurie through several open letters, recently described the governor as a failed politician and not qualified to be picked as running mate to the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar.

But in a statememt dated 15/06/2022 titled ‘THE UNFORTUNATE RAIN OF UNNECESSARY ABUSES ON THE GOVERNOR OF DELTA STATE, HIS EXCELLENCY, SEN. DR. IFEANYI ARTHUR OKOWA BY ONE OF OUR KINSMEN, HON. EVANCE OCHUKO IVWURIE’ and jointly signed by Chief Professor Andrew Ekakitie, Dr. Kings Okpako, Hon. Anthony O. Edafiogho and Hon. Anthony Ajaino for CONCERNED ABRAKA PEOPLE IN POLITICS, the group said “by the volumes of open vilification of our amiable governor, by one of our kinsmen, Hon. Evance Ochuko Ivwurie, we are constrained to state that: We wholeheartedly condemn his reckless vituperation.”

Adding: “The governor does not deserve it at all.

“The actions are entirely his own and not a representation of the mood of the community.

“Abraka people are not known to be that foully loquacious.”

Furthermore, they said they dissociate themselves from his malefaction, saying that “Governor Okowa has been nice to Abraka Community and its people since he became governor of Delta State.

“Governor Okowa, to the best of our knowledge, has assisted him so much that it is satanic to attribute the political woes of this our kinsman, on the innocent governor. He must realize that his electoral value is near zero even in his own unit.

“Governor Okowa is eminently qualified to hold the position of the Vice president of the Federal republic of Nigeria if our great Party, the PDP so deemed it fit. Therefore we are solidly behind the governor in his quest.

“We hereby admonish our fellow kinsman to desist from any manner of calumnious campaign.

“We therefore enjoin the general public to disregard all his write ups and please note the stand of the Abraka people,” the statement added.
