Oborevwori remains Delta PDP preferred guber aspirant - Spokesman

Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori is set to emerge as preferred aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship primary holding today at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba.

Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Dennis Otu in a statement to refute rumours of the alleged stepping down from the race.

The Speaker urged delegates and stakeholders to ignore text messages and fake news being circulated in some sections of the social media, saying it was the handiwork of detractors.

"Our Dear esteemed delegates, please ignore text messages alleging that the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly and foremost Governorship aspirant, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori  has stepped down from the Governorship race.

"Our detractors are at work again and they should be ignored. 

"The Speaker is fully in the Governorship race and Deltans should disregard  such messages from our detractors.

"Rt.Hon Oborevwori remains the preferred Governorship aspirant. God bless you all as you do the needful today, Wednesday, May 25th, 2022 at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba.

"The Speaker is already seated at the venue of the Primary... We Move for victory!" he stated
